RAC and SEAC agree on the restriction of diisocyanates in the workplace

The 2 committees of ECHA, the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) and the Committee for Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) have adopted the restriction proposal on diisocyanates. Both committees agreed on the restriction of diisocyanates in the workplace.

The restriction resulted from a proposal put forward by the German authorities, in collaboration with ISOPA and ALIPA as well as with Downstream Associations,

to harmonize training practices in order to create a level playing field and avoid further cases of occupational asthma and respiratory sensitisation from exposure to diisocyanates in the workplace.

ISOPA fully supports the approach taken by the German authorities and will continue to engage with policymakers to ensure the highest of standards are maintained across Europe.
