ISOPA and its member companies launch 4th edition of bulk guidelines

Last week, ISOPA and its member companies launched the 4th edition of its bulk guidelines. The guidelines are part of ISOPA and the polyurethane industry’s broader product stewardship efforts to ensure the safe handling and use of diisocyanates.

ISOPA`s Logistics EHS Working Group worked in close collaboration with logistic providers as well as key downstream associations to update the 3rd edition of the bulk guidelines. The 3rd edition of the guidelines were created in 2006. As such, it was necessary for the update as several changes have been seen which required review. These changes were amongst others the Seveso III Directive, ISOPA`s new tank farm assessment form online and the need for a clearer distinction on the accountability between operators and drivers especially when unloading the material.

ISOPA will soon provide versions in DE – FR – ES – NL – HU languages. Additionally, as part of our campaign we will also launch a flyer to guide drivers/operators in their day-to-day unloading operation. The ISOPA Secretary General, Jörg Palmersheim, stated “ISOPA’s commitment to product stewardship cannot be overstated. We will continue to work across the value chain to ensure our high standards are upheld long into the future”.
