ISOPA is committed to the continuous increase of standards in the loading, transport, unloading and storage of diisocyanates and polyols. Our aim is to assure maximum protection of health and safety and a consistent industry wide approach.
Putting this into practice, we have developed a programme that includes guidelines, training programmes, live exercises and the systematic availability of vital contact and other data in case of accidents.
ISOPA is concerned that untrained people may open manlids to take samples or to check on the contents of a tanker. These are very unsafe practices and the letter warns of the dangers associated with them. This letter may be carried by drivers and has been sent to the European Commission for distribution to Customs officials.
