Health and safety is vitally important to ISOPA and the whole sector. The key to reducing accidents and risks to health or the environment is clear procedures, information and practice in managing emergencies. ISOPA is committed to all three of these.
ISOPA provides information and expert advice based on research and data about the health & safety profile of diisocyanates and polyols. Together with the International Isocyanates Institute (III) - of which all ISOPA companies are also members - ISOPA promotes product stewardship of polyurethane raw materials toluene diisocyanates (TDI) & methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI).
The III has carried out research for nearly 30 years and helps reinforce health security and safety of polyurethanes. During this time it has conducted 190 studies on TDI & MDI and their precursors, published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in the fields of health & toxicology, epidemiology, combustibility and related analysis.
ISOPA continues to commit significant resources to the education of customers, producers and others in the supply chain to promote responsible practices associated with its products.
