Promoting safety
ISOPA members are committed to safety and have company systems in place to protect people and the environment when using polyurethane raw materials. This is a basic requirement of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

At an industry level, ISOPA has developed and distributed detailed sets of training and handling guidelines to increase safety during loading, transportation and unloading.

Raising standards in Africa
ISOPA is implementing a health and safety training programme in Africa to raise standards. South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco, Kenya, Tunisia, Algeria and Senegal have been covered so far with further seminars in preparation.

Increasing scientific knowledge
The effects of polyurethanes' raw materials on people and nature are scientifically well understood. Nevertheless, the sector is always deepening knowledge of its products with regard to health, safety and the environment. At a global level the International Isocyanates Institute has completed 90 expert studies in these areas.
