MDI - CLASSIFICATION AND LABELLING, 30 th ATP

The 30 th Adaptation to the Technical Progress (European Commission Directive 2008/58/EC) was adopted by Member States on 16 February 2007 and published in the Official Journal on 15 th September 2008 . This Directive will enter into force 20 days following its publication.  The timescale for implementation of the 30 th ATP is until 1 June 2009 .

Included in the 30 th ATP is a revised classification for MDI. The main change is to re-classify MDI as a Carcinogen Category 3 (limited evidence of a carcinogenic effect). MDI remains labelled as Xn harmful; it will not be re-labelled as T toxic.
